McGinnis Lochridge announced today that it is expanding with the opening of a Dallas office and the addition of board-certified labor and employment attorney Felicity A. Fowler and established energy litigation attorney Donald D. Jackson. Fowler will head up the new Dallas office while splitting her time between Houston and Dallas, serving clients in both markets. Jackson will continue to represent energy and other clients throughout Texas from the firm’s Houston office.
“Our growth into the Dallas market is a result of client demand,” Doug Dodds, managing partner of McGinnis Lochridge, said. “Our new Dallas office will enhance our ability to help existing and future clients solve challenging legal problems and achieve their business objectives throughout Texas and the nation.”
Fowler most recently was a partner with Haynes and Boone, where she served on the board of directors and previously as chair of the Attorney Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She has more than 26 years of experience representing management in employment litigation and related proceedings. She has a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
“I am thrilled to join McGinnis Lochridge, and I share Doug’s excitement about expanding into the Dallas market,” Fowler said. “I look forward to building and leading the office, which will serve the complex litigation and transactional needs of our clients.”
Jackson joins the firm’s Houston office, focusing on oil and gas, intellectual property and commercial litigation. He brings more than 24 years of litigation experience, and like Fowler, previously served as a partner with Haynes and Boone, where he was head of the oil and gas litigation practice group. Among his many achievements, Jackson was recognized in the 2013-2018 lists of Texas Super Lawyers for his work in energy and natural resources and intellectual property. Jackson’s depth of knowledge in the energy sector precedes his law career—prior to becoming an attorney, he was an engineer with Exxon. Jackson holds a B.S. in Chemistry from S.M.U. and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and earned a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas.
Jackson began his career at McGinnis Lochridge and later worked at Haynes and Boone for 18 years. “After many years working on behalf of clients in the energy litigation sector, I am pleased to rejoin McGinnis Lochridge’s Houston office,” Jackson said. “The firm is a perfect fit for my clients and goals. With the energy sector booming, this is an exciting time to make this transition.”
“Felicity and Don bring with them a depth of litigation experience in high-profile matters,” Dodds said. “They are each recognized as leaders in their practice areas, and we are honored to welcome them as our partners.”
These additions come on the heels of dynamic growth at McGinnis Lochridge. The firm has added 16 attorneys to its roster since January 2018 and currently has offices in Austin, Houston, Dallas and Decatur, Texas.
The firm provides legal counsel on business and financial matters, and represents clients before administrative agencies, at the State Capitol and in courthouses across Texas and throughout the Southwest. The firm’s clients represent a wide variety of business sectors, including oil and gas, electric energy, financial services, technology, healthcare, hospitality, higher education and real estate, among others.
The Dallas office will open mid-June in the Chase Tower, 2200 Ross Ave., Ste. 4900E. The Houston office is located at 711 Louisiana Street, Ste. 1600.
