McGinnis Lochridge is pleased to announce that Zachariah Taylor “Zac” Evans has joined the firm as Of Counsel in Austin. Zac joins the firm’s Land & Water Practice Group, where he will draw on his extensive legal and legislative experience to represent clients in the water and wastewater industries, including water districts and water supply corporations. He joins from Akers & Akers, LLP.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Zac gained invaluable experience serving members of both parties in the Texas Legislature for almost a decade, having served as an intern, legislative liaison, policy analyst, Deputy Director of the Texas House of Representatives Select Committee on Federal Economic Stabilization Funding, and as a Chief of Staff. Zac also co-edited Texas Senate Practice, 2013-2017 eds.
“Zac’s experience as an attorney and in the legislature will be invaluable to our clients,” said Practice Chair Phillip Schmandt. “He will be able to help them navigate the challenges they face in today’s policy and regulatory environments that govern the land development and water industries here in Texas.”
Zac earned his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and his B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin. During law school, he served as a legislative law clerk for the Travis County Probate Court and the Texas House Democratic Caucus.
