AUSTIN, TEXAS (February 26, 2008) – McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore, L.L.P. today announced it is hosting more than 100 attorneys from 46 states and eight countries at the midwinter conference of the State Capital Global Law Firm Group beginning February 28 in Austin. The State Capital Global Law Firm Group is an association of independent law firms in all 50 U.S. state capitals and commercial cities, and over 130 member firms located around the world.

Austin Mayor Will Wynn will provide welcoming remarks and discuss what cities can do regarding climate change and energy efficiency at the opening session on Thursday, February 28, followed by a panel discussion on climate change and its impact on the environment and water supply. Over the course of the three-day meeting, presentations will address topics including intellectual property, labor/employment, healthcare and insurance, real estate, corporate transactions and environmental laws. Among the hot topics is electronic waste (e-waste) recycling, which will be presented by Texas Senator Kirk Watson on Friday, February 29.
