On January 25, attorney Nelia Robbi was awarded the 2020 Joseph C. Parker Jr. Diversity Award by the Austin Bar Association. The award was presented at the organization’s 17th Annual Austin Bar Foundation Gala.
The Joseph C. Parker Jr. Diversity Award was named in honor of the first African-American president of the Austin Bar Association, who dedicated his life and work to championing the equal, ethical and fair treatment all people, and raising awareness for the need to diversify the community. The award is presented to a firm or attorney who brings diversity to Austin’s legal community, following the path created by Mr. Parker and exemplifying all he stood for.
Nelia Robbi is an experienced trial attorney who represents individuals and entities in a variety of civil and business disputes in both state and federal courts. She is also a lecturer at Texas Law in the David J. Beck Center for Legal Research, Writing, and Appellate Advocacy. Prior to law school, Nelia worked as a social worker for SAFE (formerly, SafePlace), where she now serves on the Board of Directors. Nelia is additionally a proud member of the Lloyd Lochridge American Inn of Court.
Nelia has been previously recognized as a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star and was named Appellate Lawyer of the Week by Texas Lawyer in 2015.
