McGinnis Lochridge—a legal fixture in Austin for 90 years—today announced that 8 lawyers will join the firm on February 1, bringing decades of experience in a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, as well as estate planning and tax matters.
The new lawyers include: Partners Ed McHorse, Cliff Ernst, Martin Lutz, and Doug Jones, along with Associates Alison Lenner and Martha Todd. This well-respected group had been at the prestigious Austin-based firm Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody. In addition to the attorneys, support staff are also joining McGinnis Lochridge.
“We are thrilled to have these lawyers join our firm,” Doug Dodds, managing partner of McGinnis Lochridge, said. “These attorneys bring high-caliber expertise in helping businesses and individuals solve challenging legal problems and achieve their goals. By adding these lawyers to McGinnis Lochridge, our business/corporate, estate, and tax practices will be second to none.”
“While we will miss our colleagues at Graves—whom we consider our friends—we are excited about the opportunity to join McGinnis,” Cliff Ernst, a corporate attorney and partner, said. “McGinnis provides a strong platform, and we share their strategic vision for becoming not only the largest, but the highest-quality, Austin-based firm. We aim to be recognized as the team that delivers the best client service on time and within budget.”
“We are proud to join a firm with the stellar reputation and history of McGinnis Lochridge,” Partner Ed McHorse said. “The strengths our group brings to the firm will complement the skills and services currently provided and will allow us to expand our practices with client-focused representation.”
McGinnis Lochridge has a strong presence in Austin and Houston, providing legal counsel on business and financial matters, and advocating for clients before administrative agencies, at the state capitol, and in courthouses across Texas and throughout the Southwest. The firm serves clients in many areas, including oil and gas, electric energy, financial services, technology, healthcare, hospitality, higher education and real estate, among others, with the specialized knowledge and efficiency of a boutique firm while having the infrastructure and broad expertise of a full-service firm.
