Cade White helps energy, insurance and construction companies solve problems as efficiently as possible. Cade is often called upon to serve as a trusted legal advisor to national and multi-national clients, providing help on a vast array of issues, including risk management, litigation, regulatory and general business issues.

Over his career, Cade has represented clients in renewable and traditional energy disputes, including onshore and offshore construction disputes, RICO claims, catastrophic personal injury matters, and regulatory matters involving the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and the Office of Natural Resources Revenue. He has represented companies in the construction field, whether construction of a pipeline, a home or a multi- family development, and has also advised countless clients on transactional and employment issues, including trade secret matters. Cade further advises international clients on the complexities of compliance issues in the United States, including economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals, and represents U.S. and London-based insurers in coverage and extra-contractual disputes.

Cade's experience in multiple areas of law is vital in high-pressure environments, when companies need a lawyer to quickly identify legal issues, know what questions to ask and what actions to take in order to put companies in the best position, and he prides himself on the ability to hone in on core issues despite voluminous amounts of documents, multiple witnesses and complicated issues.

OFFSHORE LITIGATION/REGULATORY WORK

Cade’s experience in the offshore sector includes:

  • Obtained multi-million arbitration award for offshore repair, inspection and maintenance company in charter party dispute where unseaworthiness counterclaim was asserted
  • Represented multi-national offshore contractor in federal court in dispute related to construction of an offshore wind farm
  • Obtained favorable settlement in RICO lawsuit for oil and gas services company alleged to have illegally hired oversea workers for work in the Gulf of Mexico
  • Represented multi-national offshore engineering and construction company in various contractual disputes that were later dismissed by opposing parties related to the exploration and development of hydrocarbons off the coast of Mexico
  • Represented largest independent operator in Gulf of Mexico in investigations and appeals of Incidents of Noncompliance issued by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement
  • Represented state-owned multinational corporation in appeal to the Office of Natural Resources Revenue related to royalty dispute
  • Provided regulatory and risk analysis for the first deepwater prospect in the Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico

ONSHORE LITIGATION/TRANSACTIONAL WORK

  • Obtained favorable settlement for midstream water company in products liability suit related to defective polyethylene pipe
  • Obtained complete dismissal of property damage claims for midstream water company resulting from collapse of above-ground storage tanks containing produced water
  • Represented operator in wrongful death lawsuit arising from accident on drilling rig
  • Negotiated easements and right-of-way agreements for midstream companies
  • Obtained settlement for pipeline owner in federal court for property damage to pipeline during pre-commissioning services

CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION

Cade’s experience in construction litigation includes:

  • Obtained favorable arbitration award related to cost overruns during construction at a refinery
  • Represented pipeline construction company in suit to collect costs associated with construction of pipeline to combined-cycle power plant and obtained settlement for client
  • Represented numerous contractors and subcontractors in construction defect lawsuits in both residential and commercial projects

INSURANCE WORK

Cade’s experience in insurance law includes:

  • Authoring coverage opinions and representing domestic insurers and foreign underwriters in coverage and extra-contractual disputes arising under CGL, D&O, E&O, commercial property, energy package, fidelity and professional liability policies.
  • Obtained numerous summary judgments for clients in declaratory actions related to insurance coverage disputes
  • Prepared amicus brief in insurance coverage dispute exceeding $100 million

MISCELLANEOUS WORK

Cade’s other experience includes:

  • Obtained complete defense verdict in partner dispute related to exit from law firm
  • Represented international manufacturer of fishing rods in trade secret misappropriation lawsuit
  • Represented tire manufacturer in products liability lawsuit
  • Defended numerous entities against personal injury claims, including trucking, premises liability, and wrongful death claims
  • Represented oil and gas services company in dispute arising from breach of Equity Interest Purchase Agreement
