Bill Daniel represents major financial services companies in commercial and consumer finance matters, and chairs the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group. He has extensive experience representing financial services companies in virtually every phase of their operations including litigation, regulatory, compliance, workouts, transactions and bankruptcy.  Bill speaks to industry and bar groups on Texas financing law.

Bill represents financial services and other companies with a variety of matters including:

  • Represents clients in litigation and arbitration, including litigation under the Texas Finance Code, Texas usury law, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, UCC, federal Truth-in-Lending Act and other state and federal laws. He represents clients in dealer litigation, lender liability disputes, security interest priority disputes and lease disputes, as well as litigation and arbitration of complex financing programs. Bill also represents clients in disputes involving motor vehicle commercial and consumer financing and other issues.
  • Represents clients in numerous business disputes and workouts.
  • Represents clients in regulatory matters involving financing and motor vehicles, Attorney General Civil Investigative Demands and investigations involving financing, motor vehicles, marketing and other matters. He represents clients in matters with the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner, Texas Finance Commission, Texas Department of Banking, Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, Texas Department of Insurance and  Office of the Attorney General of Texas.
  • Provides highly experienced counsel to major financial services providers regarding both commercial and consumer transactions. Bill assists clients with structuring programs for compliance with Texas and federal law, and represents and counsels clients in secured transaction matters including financing under the Uniform Commercial Code and real property financing.
  • Bill played a leading role as a consultant in the drafting of various Texas laws governing financing transactions.
  • Bill has substantial experience representing clients in commercial bankruptcies, including dealer bankruptcies.
