Marcus' experience includes assisting with court hearings and trials on a variety of lawsuits, drafting pleadings and discovery, providing legal research and communicating with clients. While clerking with Judge Mike Engelhart of the 151st District Court in 2012, Marcus assisted the Court with legal research and motion memoranda. Prior to law school, Marcus interned in the office of Secretary James Baker, III.  Marcus is a member of the Houston Bar Association and Houston Young Lawyers Association, and volunteers as a music leader for high school students.

Marcus is a graduate of Texas A&M University and received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.  At the University of Houston Law Center, he served as a Senior Articles Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law, and was a member of the Hispanic Law Student Association and Aggie Law Society.

  • Co-Counsel for ranch owner plaintiff against family members in a dispute involving transfers of family limited partnership interests.  Judgment entered rescinding transfers and restoring ownership of the ranch and business to plaintiff.
  • Served as Co-Counsel for executor and sole beneficiary in will contest matter where adoption by estoppel was alleged by putative adoptee.  The case settled after jury selection.
  • Co-Counsel for plaintiff in civil RICO lawsuit based on multi-million dollar fraudulent invoices sold to plaintiff.  The case abated pending criminal investigation.
